Q. When and where do I pick-up my race packet?

Packet pickup is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at Scheels Bismarck, 800 Kirkwood Mall. Late arrivals can pick up race packets at the start/finish area located at Cottonwood Park, 2506 12th Street SE on race morning.

Q. I am not able to make it to race packet pickup. What are my options?

If you are not able to pick up your race packet Friday, you may have someone else pick up your packet. If this is not an option for you either, we will have your race packet available before 6 a.m. race morning at the race start.

Q. Is the Bismarck Marathon a Boston qualifier?

Yes. The Bismarck Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. Race results will be published online at immediately following the race. We also email our race results to the Boston Marathon officials for proof.

Q. Where should I park for the race?

Parking is available near the start/finish line in Cottonwood Park. Click here for the Cottonwood Parking Map.

Q. What type of sports drink is available on the trail?

Lemon-lime Powerade and water is provided throughout the race course.

Q. Can I use my iPod?

For safety reasons, the use of iPods/headphones are strongly discouraged. Runners who choose to wear headphones do so at their own risk. The race course is not a closed course and the use of headphones may prevent you from hearing traffic and verbal instructions.

Q. May I push a stroller/baby jogger in the race?

No. To ensure a safe and fair race course for all participants, strollers and baby joggers are not allowed. For the same safety concerns, leashed dogs are not allowed along the race course either.

Q. What instructions do I need to know for my relay team?

Q. How do relay members get to the relay exchange sites?

Q. Who do I contact to volunteer?

Q. I am injured, pregnant and/or no longer able to attend the race, can I get a refund?

Entry fees are non-refundable. The only exception that will be made is for those who are on active military duty and are deployed for service. Submit a copy of deployment papers along with a mailing address to request the refund.

Q. Can I defer my entry to next year?

No. Entry deferments are not permitted.

Q. Can I give/sell my registration to another person?

No. Transferring your registration to another runner is not allowed.

Q. May I switch races after I register?

Yes, you may switch events up thru Friday, Sept. 13 via email Changes after Sept. 13 must be made during packet pickup Friday, Sept. 20 at Scheels for a $10 change fee.

Q. Are walkers allowed to participate?

Yes, so long as they can finish in the 6.5-hour time limit.

Q. Are showers available after the race?

Showers are available free of charge to all participants at the Missouri Valley Family YMCA, 1608 N. Washington St., 255-1525. Your race number will serve as your free pass to use the shower room.
