We are giving kids the real Bismarck Marathon race experience!
Kids of ALL ages will finish their race under an arch, just like the one that our other races finish under! NEW THIS YEAR – most races will take place inside the Capitol Grounds loop where there is grass to prioritize the safety of the kids.
We have different distances to accommodate kids of all ages.
PLUS this race is FREE and includes a special gift (coming soon)!
Adaptive Race presented by Dreams in Motion
Dreams in Motion is helping make the Bismarck Marathon a more inclusive race for everyone. The Adaptive Race is for individuals who experience a developmental disability (physical, mental, or emotional).
The race will start at the same location as the Bartlett & West Mini Marathon on Saturday, September 21st at the North Dakota State Capitol Grounds start line, and follow a similar route.
Competitors will receive a FREE shirt with their registration and a race medal!

Registration
The Bartlett & West Kids Mini Marathon and Dreams in Motion Adaptive Race are FREE events! Every kid registered for the Kids Mini Marathon receives a FREE gift, while participants of the Adaptive Race receive a FREE t-shirt.
There are two ways to register for the Kids Mini Marathon:
- Online Registration: Opens on August 1st
- In-Person Registration: Prior to the race

Race Options
- 2 and under
- 3-4 years old
- 5-6 years old
- 7-8 years old
- 9 and older
The fastest girls and boys participants will receive a special Bismarck Marathon blanket – the same gift awarded to our top runners in our official races!
Race Map
- All kids races will finish at the same location. Each age will meet at their race distance in the specified area prior to the start of the race!
- The Kids Mini Marathon and Adaptive Race maps are still being worked on. Stay tuned for more information.

This schedule is subject to change. The Bismarck Marathon will never change a schedule without notifying its participants.
Parking at the North Dakota State Capital Grounds is limited and will fill up quickly on race day.
The Bismarck Marathon and officials from the North Dakota State Capital are working together to create the best parking experience for all runners on race day. Stay tuned for an updated parking map with the best locations to park, where not to park, and more.
Parking will not be allowed along the main loop of the Capital Grounds to prioritize runner safety.
