The Bismarck Marathon is donating a total $55,375 to 35 different organizations and charities. This is a record amount of donations for the Bismarck Marathon, one that was previously held by the 2019 Bismarck Marathon. The 2021 Bismarck Marathon weekend was held September 16-18.
Twelve (12) local charities were selected to be recipients with other donations going to Mile Marker volunteers and YMCA Strong Kids.
The local recipients this year include: Arts for All, Bismarck Parkinson’s Support Group, Dakota Girls & Boys Ranch, YMCA Strong Kids, Ronald McDonald’s Caremobile, Roughrider Ambucs, Make-A-Wish North Dakota, Team Kaizen, Designer Genes, United Tribes Technical College, Bis-Man Mentor Squad, Bismarck Parks and Recreation Endowment, and Youthworks.
Youthworks was selected to receive an extra $250 donation thanks to runners of the Bismarck Marathon. Runners were asked to vote for their favorite water station along the route and selected water station number 19.
This water station group was part of Elsberry & Shively Law Firm who made the station feel like early Christmas. The law firm then selected Youthworks to be the recipient of the extra $250 donation. Youthworks helps homeless, runaway, trafficked and struggling youth in North Dakota.
The 2021 Bismarck Marathon was the 40th in the race’s history and is still North Dakota’s longest running marathon. The race continues to attract national attention bringing in runners from 41 different states plus Canada in 2021.
The 2022 race weekend will be the 41st in Bismarck Marathon history and will be held September 15-17, 2022. [/vc_column_text]
