BISMARCK, ND — The Bismarck Marathon presented by MDU Resources Group Inc. announced its 2023 BNSF Railway Marathon Relay exchange points and race legs.
The Marathon Relay, which will feature an all-new 26.2 mi. route starting and finishing at the North Dakota State Capitol Grounds will run through some of Bismarck’s historic neighborhoods, across the Missouri River into Mandan, and more.
Here are the 2023 exchange points and legs:
- 3.2 mi.– Corner of Pirates Loop SE and Marina Road (at the bottom of the bridge)
- 6 mi. – Riverwood Golf Course Parking Lot (at mile 9.2)
- 6.1 mi. – Santa Maria Lane (frontage road, at mile 15.3)
- 5.6 mi. – Walt Neuen’s Memorial Horse Park (at mile 20.9)
- 5.3 mi. – Finish line (ND State Capitol Grounds)
* Relay exchange zone 4 participants SHOULD NOT park in the Nishu Bowmen Club Archery parking lot* **Please note that there was a change made to relay exchange location 1 on September 11th.**
The race starts at 7:30 AM on Saturday, September 16th at the ND State Capitol Grounds. Marathon Relay teams are made up of 5 different runners, completing shorter legs of a full marathon course.
Teams can compete in five different categories for the Marathon Relay including Corporate, All-Female, All-Male, Co-Ed, and Masters (40+).
