She Ran a Full Marathon – ACCIDENTALLY!

Maddie Biertempfel (white t-shirt) started her day with the intention of running the Half Marathon. At mile 7, she realized she made the wrong turn and got a little off track.

She didn’t know what to do. She found the On Pace Race Team where Maddie asked for directions back to the Hand Marathon route. The On Pace Race Team asked how Maddie was feeling to which she responded “pretty good.”

Then the On Pace Race Team said “well it looks like you’re running the FULL MARATHON today!” And the rest is history!

But here’s the best part: the FARTHEST Maddie has EVER ran prior to yesterday was only 13.1 miles! What started as just another half marathon turned into 26.2 miles all because of a wrong turn!

Congratulations to Maddie for stepping up to the challenge in the middle of the Bismarck Marathon!
