🏃‍♂️ MORE THAN MILES: LYNN’S VISION FOR THE MARATHON RELAY

For Lynn Beiswanger, the Bismarck Marathon Relay is about more than running 26.2 miles, it’s about bringing people together.

This year, Lynn had a vision to grow the Marathon Relay by encouraging members of local faith communities to form teams and take on the challenge together.

His idea was simple: training for a marathon relay creates community. Teammates support one another, work toward a common goal and learn to push through difficult moments, lessons that extend far beyond race day.

Thanks in large part to Lynn’s efforts, a number of this year’s relay teams represent local places of worship, bringing people together through fitness, faith and a shared challenge.

When you see those teams out on the course Saturday, know there’s a pretty special story behind how many of them got there. 🙌🏼

Thank you, Lynn, for your efforts to grow the Bismarck Marathon Relay and use running as a way to bring our community closer together. ❤️🏁

💙 MARATHON RELAY SPOTLIGHT: SANFORD STRONG 💙

Team Ben is back, but this year Ben is bringing a whole team with him! (Picture below features last years team)

Meet the Fab 5 of Sanford Strong: Braydon Volchenka, Ben Enzminger, Emma Williams, Stryker Quellhorst and Lily Ford.

Together, these five incredible young people will take on the Bismarck Marathon Relay as Team Sanford Strong, supported along the course by friends, family members and therapists from Sanford Strong and Sanford Children’s Therapies.

Each member of the team lives with varying levels of disabilities, but that hasn’t stopped them from training throughout the summer and preparing to take on the challenge of race day alongside their supportive “pushers.”

Led by occupational therapist Mike Wagner, Sanford Strong is an adaptive training program that helps individuals with medically complex backgrounds live active lives with the guidance and support they need.

When you see Team Sanford Strong out on the course Saturday, CHEER LOUD! 👏 Their determination, hard work and teamwork represent so much of what Marathon Weekend is all about! 💙
